The summer job of a lifetime: Kiwi.com welcomes seven new team members (and their travel buddies) to their roles as World Travel Hackers
27 June 2023, Prague – Kiwi.com has finalized the candidate selection process and are delighted to introduce the seven successful applicants and their travel buddies who will take on the role of World Travel Hackers this summer.
In May, Kiwi.com, in partnership with Visa, announced the hunt for applicants to take on this summer job of a lifetime and since that time have been handling thousands of approaches about the job from around the world. The first challenge was to get those down to a shortlist of just forty and then select from those candidates who would get the job. The successful seven candidates showed their ability to film, photograph and share their adventures and travel hacks by producing creative, engaging social media content. They will be given a travel budget of €10,000 from which they will fund a series of travel challenges across a four week period over the summer that they will document through social media. Whatever they get to save from that budget, they will get to keep.
Andrew Parker-Blagg, VP of Brand & Communications at Kiwi.com, shared his thoughts on the excitement and buzz that has built up around the roles: “We knew that this was not your average summer job and the interest would be high, but what we were not fully prepared for was just how committed the applicants would be to fulfilling the tasks; the level of effort and creativity was outstanding. This made the selection process a very tough job and I want to thank everyone who applied and particularly the 40 shortlisted candidates who featured on our social media channels who were all excellent storytellers.”
He added: “I welcome our new team members to their roles; it’s going to be a great summer as we watch them uncover the best travel hacks and share their adventures, highs and lows to an ever growing number of followers.”
