Prague – October 15, 2026 – Travel search is undergoing a fundamental shift from rigid forms and drop-down filters to natural, conversational queries. Responding to changing traveler behavior, leading travel-tech company Kiwi.com has expanded its Model Context Protocol (MCP) infrastructure, making live flight search natively accessible across the world’s major AI platforms. Travelers can now search for flights in plain language directly inside OpenAI (ChatGPT UI app), Anthropic (Claude connector), and Google (Gemini Enterprise connector).
Rather than requiring travelers to fill out complex forms, Kiwi.com’s MCP server translates natural language requests, such as “somewhere warm in late March, under €200, two adults and a toddler”, into structured, real-time flight itineraries. Instead of displaying cached listings or vague suggestions, the system pulls live pricing and route combinations. Each option includes a direct booking link that seamlessly redirects the traveler into the trusted Kiwi.com booking funnel, where the purchase completes securely with full price transparency.
A 10x surge in agentic travel demand
The transition to conversational search is already driving user adoption. High-intent conversational searches on Kiwi.com’s MCP server have expanded 10x since January 2026, confirming that consumers are actively using AI assistants to plan and execute real travel itineraries, with the usage trajectory steepening week over week as conversational travel planning moves towards mainstream.
This expansion marks the latest milestone in Kiwi.com’s conversational product roadmap. The company first introduced its public MCP server in late 2025 in partnership with hosting provider Alpic. Building on that foundation, Kiwi.com launched a dedicated AI search mode directly within its own app in the spring of 2026, enabling users to interact conversationally on Kiwi.com’s primary interface. In June 2026, Kiwi.com brought the underlying technology fully in-house by deploying a proprietary, internally hosted MCP server.
Meeting travelers where they already are
This multi-platform strategy reflects Kiwi.com’s commitment to customer-centric innovation: being available to travelers in their preferred way, rather than forcing them into a single channel. Travelers who prefer an all-in-one travel experience can search conversationally within the Kiwi.com app, while those who rely on daily AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini can access Kiwi.com’s real-time flight engine without leaving their preferred interface.
Today, Kiwi.com’s single MCP infrastructure powers external queries across global AI ecosystems while simultaneously driving internal customer support agents and proprietary travel tools.
“Traditional travel search forced people to think like databases—juggling dates, filters, and browser tabs,” said Michal Šindelář, VP of Consumer Product at Kiwi.com. “AI agents flip that model entirely. After rolling out AI search inside our own app earlier this year, making our engine native to ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini via MCP was the natural next step. Our philosophy is simple: we want to meet travelers where they want to be. Whether someone prefers searching directly on Kiwi.com or using the AI assistant they interact with every day, our routing algorithms do the heavy lifting behind the scenes to turn inspiration into bookable trips.”
