Kiwi.com reports strong demand & record bookings

April 30, 2024

Prague, Czech Republic — Leading travel technology firm, Kiwi.com, has released its financial results for 2023, reporting improved EBITDA of €34M. Against a background of sustained demand for travel and a notable surge in global airline seat capacities, the company achieved growth across multiple metrics including a 24% increase in bookings. The company also successfully executed the refinancing of its credit facility, repaying early the loan facility backed by the Czech government during the COVID period, having fulfilled all obligations.

Commenting on the results, Kiwi.com Co-founder and CEO Oliver Dlouhý, said: “In 2023, we made strategic investments to expand our brand presence across key European markets, resulting in our direct-to-consumer bookings share growing to 63% in those selected markets. This growth was facilitated through high profile marketing campaigns and strategic marketing partnerships, such as those forged with T-Mobile and Visa in 2023, which further amplified our brand visibility and reach.”

“These initiatives not only improved our market presence but are also helping us lay the foundations for customer loyalty and repeat bookings in the future, with our focus on winning not just the minds but also the hearts of our customers and helping to set us apart from the competition,” he added.

The direct-to-consumer focus and investments in customer experience made during 2023 led to an increase in Net Promoter Score to an industry high of 61 in our primary markets. The year also marked the beginning of a transformation in approach to relationships with airlines for the company. The results of this transformation were evident in January 2024 with the announcement of a milestone agreement with Ryanair that benefits customers and aligns with Kiwi.com’s long-term business objectives.
