Kiwi.com: 2022 Business Results

June 28, 2023
  • Kiwi.com sees all-time record seats booked as travel confidence returns
  • 2022 Results were in line with management expectations, with a positive EBITDA of almost €8 million.

28 June 2023 – Travel tech company, Kiwi.com, has released its financial results for 2022, showing record seats booked and positive EBITDA of almost €8 million.

Although 2022 started slowly due to the tail end impacts of Covid-19 variant, Omicron, by February Kiwi.com’s customers were free from pandemic related restrictions and looked to make up for lost travel time. This brought the company an all-time record daily booking count in April of over 80,000 seats booked in a single day.

Co-founder and CEO at Kiwi.com, Oliver Dlouhý, said, “2022 was a year to draw a line under the impacts of the Covid-era on our business and use this strong position to invest in ourselves – in who we are, our customers and our people.”

“The surge in travel demand did not change our strategic priorities or divert our attention from our goals; to improve the experience for our customers, to invest in our technology, in our people, and in our brand. Our new brand identity was revealed in the final quarter of the year; with initial marketing investment focused on Central Europe where we started to see the benefits of this direct to consumer approach with 70% of those customers now purchasing from us directly,” he added.

2022 also brought new relationships. In the U.S. Kiwi.com partnered with Spirit Airlines – their reach across the Americas complementing Kiwi.com’s strength in the European market. As well as partnerships with ISIC, Visa and Visit Ukraine, 2022 saw Marseille Provence added to the list of airport partners improving the experience for the self-connect customers.
