4 August 2022 Travel-tech company Kiwi.com is organizing a User Experience (UX) hackathon, Global Travel Jam, aiming to improve global travelers’ experience throughout all booking and travel stages. While building the customer-centric product, Kiwi.com and its Design and Research team, one of the biggest in Europe, are devoted to making travelers’ experience smooth, even in times of uncertainty and travel chaos happening at many airports globally.

User Experience designers and researchers are invited to visit Kiwi.com’s headquarters in Brno, Czech Republic, to brainstorm, innovate, and inspire. This year’s hackathon’s ultimate goal is to support travelers throughout the journey and promote the customer-centric approach to all participants.

Martin Jancik, Product Design Manager at Kiwi.com, said, “At Kiwi.com, field trips and research are an integral part of the UX team and the design process, so we wanted our 2022 challenge to reflect that. This year we’re highlighting the importance of research in product design, encouraging participants to start documenting their travel experience on their way to the hackathon. And since making travel more accessible is our mission and passion, our participants will be tackling non-standard flying practices and creating futuristic travel approaches that can be then implemented by anyone who attends the hackathon.”

The outcomes of previous User Experience hackathons organized by Kiwi.com have brought many global solutions for travelers to overcome language barriers, navigate through travel while being blind, and address fear of flying.

Global Travel Jam will take place at Kiwi.com’s headquarters in Brno from 7 to 9 October and is open to UX designers, UX researchers, service and content designers from around the world. The hackathon is a unique opportunity for UX professionals to step out of their routine and get innovative while tackling global traveler issues that matter.

The UX professionals are invited to submit their applications via the registration link until 31 August 2022. The organizer will cover travel and accommodation expenses, and the number of participants is capped at 16. To find out more about the event, visit globaltraveljam.com.
