Airline integration and new
co-operations
Kiwi.com is committed to establishing relationships with airlines for the benefit of customers. Our latest addition is the leading European airline group Air France-KLM, which expands our major airline co-operations—including recent agreements with Ryanair, easyJet, and American Airlines—and brings our total to over 200 airline collaborations.
Leveraging the latest technology and connecting with the Group’s New Distribution Capability (NDC), Kiwi.com’s engineers have worked behind the scenes to effectively adapt the standard integration for NDC and tailor it specifically to accommodate Air France and KLM’s branded fares and diversified content offering. This enables Kiwi.com to offer the complete set of price categories and packages available from the Air France-KLM Group including premium fares and services to customers.
We spoke to Golan Shaked, Kiwi.com Chief Commercial Officer, about the agreement. He commented, “Our data insights show that in 2024, there were over 800 million searches conducted on Kiwi.com by travelers looking for flights on the specific routes operated by Air France and KLM. With this co-operation, we are responding to what our customers are looking for and addressing that demand by giving them access to the Group’s most competitive fares.”
The value to Kiwi.com customers is obvious, but what does this mean for the airlines?
“Kiwi.com will bring Air France-KLM’s brand presence to wider geographies and demographic segments. With Kiwi.com’s popularity as the preferred app for ‘generation next’, we can support Air France-KLM in reaching this growing, lucrative segment,” he added.
As well as the more obvious benefits of co-operation, customers also have access to the Kiwi.com Guarantee which is unique in the market and enhances any partner airline’s offering to customers in two main areas; customers are provided with alternative flight options in case of disruption, including airlines outside of the original carrier network and, in the event of a flight being cancelled, Kiwi.com provides a unified refund policy by giving customers the option of an instant refund and enabling them to immediately book an alternative flight.
As Kiwi.com CEO, Oliver Dlouhý, recently shared on stage at CAPA’s most recent Airline Leaders Summit: “We listened to our customers to understand what worries them the most when traveling, and used our technology to build a product that addresses those anxieties – our goal was to build a product that complements the existing customer experience offered by airlines.”
