Winter 2018: Travel in review
Online Travel agent website, Kiwi.com, reveals the Top 10 locations Brits are escaping to this winter
London, January 2019 – Figures released by Kiwi.com have revealed the top 10 locations Brits are escaping to this winter as well as the most popular travel habits we all displayed from November to March.
Kiwi.com can reveal that thousands of Brits are flying out of the UK this winter to avoid the Arctic blast set to hit the UK. Athens is ancient no more as it takes the hotspot for the number one destination booked. Many of us don’t require the heat but would much rather enjoy hitting the high street shops of New York, whilst more unusual European destinations such as Vienna and Bucharest attract an influx of Brits desiring to experience an authentic, historical trip.
Data released by Kiwi.com shows that solo travel is the most common with 50 per cent of Brits journeying alone compared to 41.5 per cent of solo global travelers. Surprisingly, families aren’t too popular with only 4 per cent of Brits booking as a family which is similar to the rest of world with only 5 per cent traveling together.
Amsterdam, Barcelona and Prague remain high on the list for the perfect winter break. Some interesting alternatives to the popular cities include Tel Aviv and Lisbon.
Kiwi.com can also reveal Brits are busy planning their trips seven weeks in advance and staying for an average of eight days, which is an increase of two days since 2017.
