Market Recovery Update: 17 August – 30 August 2020
You are reading the fifth edition of the Travel Market Recovery Update from Kiwi.com. It includes the top five destinations for the Czech Republic, Spain, and Slovakia, together with the top five European routes between 17 and 30 August 2020. The update also includes a comparison between long and short-haul flight bookings and trends for virtually interlined flights versus direct.
- As European children return to school and the peak summer vacation period comes to an end we have seen a drop in bookings of 8% in the period 17 – 30 August when comparing the previous two weeks. Greece lost its first place as a top destination to Portugal, with the top three European routes being: London – Faro, Lisbon – London, and London – Lisbon. This was likely driven by the lifting of the 14 day quarantine requirement for UK travelers returning from Portugal.
