May 17, 2018

The much-loved Great Manchester Run inspires 31% increase in flight searches to Manchester to take part and cheer on participants

LONDON, May 17 2018 — This weekend, Manchester is hosting its much-anticipated annual event, the Manchester 10k race. Affectionately referred to as Europe’s favorite run, Kiwi.com has found that flight bookings made to the city from Europe have increased by 31 per cent since the run last year.

According to Kiwi.com, Germany has seen a huge increase in flight bookings (150 per cent) since last year, which is miles more than the next most athletic country, Spain (27 per cent). With more than 40,000 people taking part in the races, this weekend is going to be Manchester’s busiest yet.

Europe’s favorite run returns

Once again, Manchester will join together to celebrate the drive, determination, and of course diversity, of the city, welcoming its guests with a vibrant atmosphere. Manchester might not have mountain views, or landmarks on every corner, but the atmosphere and support at the annual race is like no other.

Alison Couper, of Kiwi.com, said: “The spirit of Manchester has certainly captured the attention of the continent, with athletes flying over in their droves to be involved. Luckily for our customers, Kiwi.com has some great deals to Manchester, starting from as little as £31.”

However if you’re looking to escape the crowds this weekend, Kiwi.com has some incredible last-minute flights out of here!
