Market Recovery Update: 20 July – 2 August 2020

The current Market Recovery Update includes top 5 destinations for the Czech Republic, Spain, and Slovakia, together with top 5 European routes taken between 20 July and 2 August 2020. The update also includes the comparison of long and short-haul flights bookings and trends of virtually interlined flights versus direct.

  • The number of bookings decreased by 2,1 % compared to the number of bookings from the previous two weeks.  With some countries, including the prime holiday destination of Spain, seeing a rise in virus cases and the UK requiring citizens to self-isolate for 14 days on returning from Spain we could have been expected to see a stronger decline.  However, London to Malaga (Spain) still features as the third most popular route and the slight decrease in overall booking numbers shows confidence in travel remains.
